Well Done to Greg Raymond for feature in POPULAR MECHANICS (yes I'm a subscriber duh).
I was very chuffed to see South African designs in quads featuring in Popular Mechanics for November 2012. I really believe that this country has some of the best intellectual capital in the world when it comes to Engineering and specifically in Aeronautical Engineering. The Xtreme Multicopter looks great and by all accounts (Thanks to Gareth Rens - the legend who has built one) it flies like a dream.
I believe we have a lot to offer the world in this field. Necessity has always driven incredible ingenuity in South Africa and I can't wait to see what gets designed and built in someone's back yard next. There is a big future in drone design and production - both from a recreational as well as commercial/military perspective.
I can't tell you the joy I have experienced the last few days as my son (even WITH his disability) has learned to fly his Ladybird quad and is just over the moon with it.
I'm getting a huge kick out of this hobby and I'm looking forward to more involvement on this forum in the future. Gareth - when we hooking up again my bru? We got lots to talk about.
