Hey guys

Anyone know of someone offering 3D printing services for hobbyists (ie. not R100/g nonsense :P)? Preferably non thermoplastic, but I might go thermoplastic first to try things out.

Cheers

One option is

http://www.bevrc.com/-antenna-58g_c46.html

$10.00 ea

Have bought a few items from BEVRC without any problems so far.
Do not expect any support if you do have problems though.
Apparently their emails go into a BIG black hole.

You can also build your own antennae

Search for "IBCrazy" and "Clover Leaf" or "Skew Planar" for his build logs.
SMA connectors and coa-ax tails from
http://www.bevrc.com/-rf-cable-and-connectors_c58.html
for $3.00

I have used the connectors and built my own 1.280 GHz clover leafs for Rx and Tx and seems to work really well.
Much better than the original dipole and inverted Vee supplied by RangeVideo.
Would have considered the ready built option if they were available for 1.2 GHz, not sure why they are not available...

Cheers

Thanks Andrew

I am so tired of waiting for orders, was thinking maybe someone was selling locally. I have a tutorial on the Cloverleaf, skewerplane, fan and windmill.

The Fan and the Windmill looks very promising, can get them from ww.truerc.com , guys who tested it got even better results from them, in comparison to the clover and skewer.

Hennis since I have started making my own antennas I now have an original set of RMRC bluebeam 5.8Ghz antenna set (CL and Skew Planar) currently not in use, I could let you have them for R300.00.

Johan I was up all night squinting through my magnifying glass trying to assemble that 5.8ghz crosshair... I hope it works lol.

Hi Danz

thanks, I will contact next month when my bank account show a positive balance.

I'm looking for a local supplier who can supply this stuff. :book:

It goes by several different names: cable sleeving; PET sleeving, Expandable tubular PET amongst others. It's very useful for neatening up wire harnesses on RC planes and multirotors and I'd like to find a local supplier.

The quads and planes I've seen which use it always look very smart with much "cleaner" lines. I know it's supposed to offer some degree of protection of the cables too but I'm wanting it mainly for cosmetic reasons. Importing something like this just for MY personal craft wouldn't really be worth it so getting in touch with a local South African retailer would be first prize.

I posted this on another part of the forum but I think it was in the wrong place.

I brought some in from Hobbyking a while back but it was too thin. I'd like some sleeving that is capable of encasing a BEC/ESC and the wiring going to each motor.
