Base Station LCD help.

Postby Gamma » Mon Dec 24, 2012 4:58 pm

Right. So this morning I started building a box for my FPV base station to hold everything. Batteries, reciever, small LCD and anything else that I need on the base station.

I used a big plastic box and mounted everything on the inside and the receiver on the outside.

Everything was going well, until I wanted to test out the power with the battery quickly and then made a huge mistake...

I connected it on backwards and it shorted the LCD
Everything else is fine but it seems like the LCD is dead dead dead. Screwed it open to see if it was maybe a cap that was popped but can't find anything of the sort.

So now the reason of this thread... Does anyone know where I can get a cheap, but decent 7-10" LCD that will run off 12V (3S lipo or car lighter plug as source). The LCD was my dad's so I need to replace it now, and might just get one for me for in case I blow it up again. I checked my local Builderswarehouse at the CCTV section, and they are asking R4000 for a 4" screen, and according to me that was just daylight robbery.

So anyone know where to get a nice small screen in the Pretoria area?

And for those interested, here was the setup before I blew up the screen (Not complete)
