So have you tested them yet? You can always mount an umbrella over the quad if you want to fly in the rain...

I get abot 500m at about 150m high on mine before the vid goes fuzzy with an immersion 600mW VTX.
I have a diversity controller with a home built a 8 turn helical on an antenna tracker. I have been over 2km on that setup with no sign of losing vid.

Have you seen the new spiroNET 13dBi 5.8GHz Patch antenna? I bought myself 1 & will test it with a IRC 600mw TX & CL antenna.

Here it is:

Can you post a few pics and also tell us how you got them if they do not intend selling them. Have bought a number of 3G antennas from Poynting. They are good

Sure will do so... As soon and I get home and try and get a flight in before sunset:)/)

Our companies do a lot of work together and I know their cto etc so we did it as an experiment to see what could be done:)

Actually better than a photo.. Here is a clip I posted in the micro fpv thread..
It's the same set up I use for my planes the same vtx and the same antenna..
The clip shows the antenna up close in the beginning..
I was actually planning to make a micro quad and fpv set up that flew 8 mins - more than a km one way and was under $100..

Managed everything except the range.. My rc topped out at 380meters and 150meters in height..still working on the rx range... And some better 2.4ghz antennas

Here is the clip:
