SA BEER LIFT COMPETITION 2012

OBJECTIVE: Try to lift as many beers as possible with your multicopter. Points will be given for lifting weight, duration and style. More info below!

COMPETITION CLOSES AND JUDGING STARTS ON THE 1st of MARCH 2013 (Just in case the world does end)

POINT SYSTEM

A. 10 points per KG lifted.
B. 10 points for 5 second flight.
C. 0.5 points for every second in flight after the 5s qualifying time.

E.g. Bob lifts 10kgs of beer for 20 seconds = 100 + 10 + 10 = 120 points


RULES

RULE 1. Payloads must be either beers or soda cans/bottles or wine if you're from Cape Town. But please in the spirit of things, try use beers :)

RULE 2. You must be from South Africa

RULE 3. It must show you, in sequence:
A. Measure your craft with a tape measure.
B. Measure the weight of the beer payload
C. Attach the Payload to your craft
D. Achieve lift off for 5 seconds or longer.

RULE 4. There will be 3 classes,
(1) Lift Class (Lift as much as you can)
(2) Style Class (Be stylish/Funny)
(3) Boobie Class (No comment)

RULE 5. Extra points can and will be given for South African Style! These style points will be judged by our sponsors

RULE 6: You cannot edit the video - single take for lift videos.

RULE 7: Minimum lift time will be 5 seconds, every second over that will earn you more points!

RULE 8: Sponsors may enter, but only for brag rights! ;)

RULE 9: Only electric multi-rotors with electric motors may enter.

RULE 10: RC shops/manufacturers may not enter.

RULE 11: Tethered flight is not allowed, the battery must be attached to the multicopter.

RULE 12: You can use as many motors as you deem safe! ;)


PRIZES

Prizes do not include shipping. They will be shipped at your expense from the respective sponsor :)
Once all sponsors have weighed in we will allocate prizes.
There will be 5 prizes in total:
A Style prize for most stylish ;)
1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes for LIFT category!
+ A Boobie Prize!

i thought of one of these for the lift with 4 little electric stabilisers to keep it level.
what? it doesnt have to be level? just 5 seconds? forget the stabilisers. just go straight up for 3 seconds and let it fall straight down for 2.

You don't have to lift the whole beer truck, just a couple of beers will do! :mrgreen:
