Stuffinc sells the Phantom for R7300 and this includes a ufo force baby quad copter to practice on. I do all the tech support for stuffinc and i know DJI gear well as iv been using it since they started :) If its your first copter, you cant go wrong with the phantom! What do you mean?

You could use the before mentioned arduino device on any platform. It would function independently.

With regards to a remote activated LED.

An arduino pro mini or nano with 3 or 4 micro relays would do the trick nicely.
The arduino would be connected to a channel on your receiver so you can use a switch or know on your transmitter to activate different leds or turn them all off.

Their site... I cant really comment on that. They do have alot more stuff than whats on their site.
You could try talk greg into selling you the Gopro camera mount without the camera gimbal.
