Re: Deciding on a Battery and Motor

A simple empirical rule is that you take 50% of the max thrust of the motor using the propeller proposed, times that by the number of motors and that is the total AUW you can have. eCalc is conservative, but you know if it works there you will have a good stable platform.

Re: 4cell Lipo to Fatshark anyone? How?

Get yourself a UBEC this will convert the voltage down to 6V which you can then use. Make sure that the UBEC takes 4S. A lot of them do.

Re: Rules and regulations for UAV

I would like to know where this is going to go. They say they are not in a rush to implement and regulations. Somehow I wish we were in Australia where you know exactly what you can or cant do.

Apparently all aircraft are governed by the existing laws in place and if you are a member of Samaa you can fly under their rules as long as it is on a registered field. The law states that you have to have a qualified pil...

Re: Rules and regulations for UAV

I have heard from a reliable source that the promulgation of UAV laws has been postponed. I am still trying to verify this. And from the same source, I have heard that they have now started prosecuting people who fly FPV or with waypoints that are not LOS. If anyone knows any more information, it wo...
